Google Play Store has finally received a long-awaited innovation. Users will now be able to download multiple apps at the same time.
According to 9to5google, the new feature is expected to save time for all users. This also means the end of app download queues. So, how does the feature work?
How does Google Play Store’s new feature work?
The new feature works quite simply. Start downloading two apps (prefer large files like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and watch them download and install in sequence. You can track the progress of the downloads in the Play Store and on your home screen.
Things to watch out for:
- This feature only applies to new installations.
- Only two apps can be downloaded at the same time.
- A third download will wait for one of the first two to complete.
- The iOS App Store supports three simultaneous downloads, while Android is currently limited to two.
Increased security
Google is also making a significant investment in app security. The Play Store scans mobile apps for malware before downloading them to your phone. This allows malware in an app to be detected before it is fully embedded in the system, helping protect Android users from seemingly innocent apps.
Google is now launching a new security test focusing on apps downloaded from outside the Play Store. This test is currently only available in Singapore, and the Play Protect system automatically blocks the installation of apps that use permissions associated with financial fraud. It also blocks apps that ask for SMS permission to access banking apps. This provides important protection against threats from apps outside the Play Store.
What is expected in the future?
The new security infrastructure is expected to be rolled out to other countries soon. This will ensure that Android users have more security in all applications, whether they are downloaded from the Play Store or not.
The ability to download multiple apps from the Google Play Store is a life-saving innovation for Android users. With the new feature, you can save time, be more productive, and say goodbye to app download queues. In addition, new security features will also help improve app security.
